The Blues is, at its heart, a traditional music. And while any living art form continues to evolve as it passes from generation to generation and is exposed to new influences, what’s so enjoyable about listening to Easy Bill & The Big Beat is their deep sense of history and sensitivity to tradition mixed with great ideas from the present. This is what keeps music alive and breathing.

“When I listen to Bill, I feel like I'm listening to myself--the way that I want to sound. Hell, the way that I ought to sound. Easy Bill can do it all, from West Coast jump, to Texas, to that burning Chicago sound. Easy Bill is a talented artist who has delivered as good a set of 50’s blues, rock’n’roll and R&B, as I have heard in a long time; a set that will delight lovers of all of these genres; and one that obviously comes recommended.

...trademark irresistable jump & jivin' R&B style. It's an upbeat album for peope who like to boogie and groove on the dance floor as much as for aficionados of 50's style Blues in all its many nuances.”

Two thirds of the tracks are self-penned, and you sense that in a live setting they would provide hugely enjoyable entertainment.

Easy Bill & The Big Beat lay down some hot, hip, hep swingtime jump blues. They have a fine sound that blends T-Bone, Louis Jordan, Rod Piazza and Little Charlie influences. Towber's fat Gibson is clear and bell-like, the horns wail and the rhythm is on time. They write good rocking bluesers and it's a fine listen from these Denver based cats.”

~ Long Island Blues Society

Midnight Creep, the debut release by Easy Bill & The Big Beat, is a wonderful collection of tunes reminiscent of early electric blues and R&B recorded decades ago. Classic West Coast Jump Blues, Chicago Blues, and R&B are presented with a 'contemporary' vintage sound that should appeal to blues fans everywhere.

~ Dana Fargnoli
Blues Director
WCNI - New London, CT

Easy Bill & The Big Beat is indeed a big beat and a big sound. Midnight Creep swings, Rocks & Rolls, and Easy Bill stays true to the Rhythm & Blues while creating his own feeling and sound. It feels like Bill is where he belongs. All in all Midnight Creep is a great CD, a must for any blues collection.
